Fizzy Starfish Play

Fizzy Starfish Play

As a mum of three young kids (5, almost 3 and 5 months), I need simple yet fun play set ups. I’m all about the quick, easy play on a budget. My children also love and thrive playing outside. And anything with water is also a hit!
DIY fizzy play in our mud kitchen is our new favourite, and requested regularly. Using basic pantry ingredients from the supermarket, you can set this up with minimal prep work.
Ingredients
•1 cup of bicarb soda
•1/4- 1/2 cup citric acid
•Glitter (optional)
Method
• Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.
• Slowly spray a little water and mix so the mixture becomes slightly lumpy and holds together when pressed.
• Put into desired silicone ice block moulds, firmly pressing down.
Leave overnight to air dry.
*If you need a quick go to on the spot, you can just combine the dry ingredients without setting in moulds*
Add your favourite coloured water using food colouring, and watch the fizzy magic happen!
I also hid some acrylic gems in our fizzy starfish for my daughter to find.
And the best part; using our gorgeous Lost in a Play Store coco sand scoop to rain the coloured water over our fizz, then using it to scoop and find the hidden gems!!
Definitely a must for any water play!
